Wear a Good Quality Sunscreen

A study by The National Rosacea Society in 2014 showed that 88% of rosacea patients reported an improvement in their symptoms when wearing a sunscreen with a high SPF (factor 30 or more).   At Sparx Beauty Salon we stock a range of top quality sunscreens from Alumier MD which offer powerful broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays.  They are free from chemical filters and will smooth and moisturise the skin. 

 Laser Treatment to Improve Facial Redness

Rosacea can result in redness, dilated blood vessels and breakouts, which can be improved by Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment.  This safe and effective laser treatment works by directing high intensity pulses of light onto the area to be treated and you can expect to see an improvement after two weeks.   People usually experience a stinging sensation, like being snapped by an elastic band, during the treatment which tends to last around 15 minutes.  Side effects are rare – perhaps some mild redness and swelling for a day or two.

Dermaroller Therapy to Improve the Appearance of Rosacea

Dermaroller Therapy is an advanced medical needling treatment which can tackle the problems with the skin’s texture, tone and colour caused by rosacea.  The treatment uses tiny micro-needle perforations which stimulate the skin to produce new collagen and enhance blood supply, thus regenerating and repairing itself naturally.  You will see an improvement after your first treatment, but for optimum results we recommend a course of between 6 and 10 treatments.   This is a safe and painless therapy carried out in hygienically controlled conditions.
