A radiofrequency treatment uses carefully controlled electrical energy to generate heat deep within the layers of the skin. Most clients find radiofrequency treatment very comfortable. The most common sensation during treatment is a gentle, pleasant warmth in the skin as the energy is delivered, which many clients find deeply relaxing.

Your Sparx practitioner will always work within safe and comfortable parameters and will check in with you throughout the session to ensure you are at ease.  There is no need for anaesthetic, numbing cream or any other form of pain management for a standard RF treatment.

One of the great advantages of radiofrequency treatment is that there is little to no downtime involved. Most clients can return to their normal daily activities immediately after their session.

You may notice some mild redness or warmth in the treated area for a short time afterwards, but this typically settles within a few hours. Your practitioner will advise you on any specific aftercare relevant to your treatment, which may include avoiding intense heat such as saunas or very hot baths for a day or two.

This depends on the area being treated, the concerns you want to address and how your skin responds to the treatment. As a general guide, most clients benefit from a course of between four and eight sessions, spaced one to two weeks apart, to achieve the best results.

Individual maintenance sessions are then recommended to sustain and build on those results over time. At your initial consultation, your Sparx specialist will assess your skin thoroughly and give you a clear and honest recommendation on the number of sessions likely to achieve your goals.

Some clients notice an immediate improvement in skin firmness and texture after their very first session, as the initial heat response causes a degree of instant tightening. However, the most significant and lasting results develop progressively over the weeks and months following a full course of treatment, as the newly stimulated collagen and elastin mature and remodel beneath the skin's surface.

The results continue to improve long after your final session, making RF one of the most satisfying long-term investments you can make in your skin.

One of the significant advantages of radiofrequency over some other advanced treatments is that it is suitable for a much broader range of skin types and tones, since it does not rely on targeting pigment in the same way that laser or IPL treatments do.

That said, there are some contraindications.  These include certain medical conditions, implanted devices such as pacemakers, active skin infections or inflammation in the treatment area, and pregnancy. All of these would make RF unsuitable.
