Lip Enhancements at Sparx Aesthetics Clinic in Winchester

Lip Enhancement at Sparx Winchester Aesthetics Clinic
Lip enhancement treatment, also called lip filler treatment or lip augmentation, is a popular non-surgical treatment to boost or restore shape and volume of the lip through the injection of a lip filler.  At Sparx aesthetics clinic in Winchester the procedure is admistered by Dr Chris Airey, our fully qualified aesthetics doctor.

If your lips have lost definition over the years, or have never had the fullness you would ideally like, lip fillers can enhance their shape and volume, giving you more definition to your smile and more confidence in your appearance.  You can choose exactly the look you want, whether that’s a subtle change or much fuller lips.  We’ll create a personalised treatment programme to ensure your lips stay plump and continue to look great.

The images below illustrate how lip fillers can work, showing a selection of clients' lips before and after lip fillers are applied.  Lip fillers have been specifically developed to enhance the natural shape of your lips, providing volume and definition.  They can create a more youthful appearance and can be tailored to ensure you achieve a natural look.  The treatment is non-invasive and there is virtually no recovery time required, although there may be some slight redness and swelling, which will usually subside quickly.   It’s a non-permanent treatment, with the fillers breaking down naturally over time, lasting on average 4-12 months.  You can then return to the salon for a top-up treatment.
The fillers we use are made of Hyaluronic Acid (or HA), a substance which is found naturally in the body.  Because of this, HA is easily accepted by the body, and once is has been injected into the skin it will be broken down over a period of months.   Hyaluronic acid fillers work by plumping up the lip directly and also trapping water within lips for a natural pout.
As lip fillers are an aesthetic treatment, there’s always a small chance that something could go wrong.  That it why it's so important to have the procedure carried out by a fully qualified doctor, such as Dr Chris Airey at Sparx. HA is a very safe product to use, because in the unlikely event of a mistake, your practitioner will be able to reverse the effect with another injection.
Depending on the  look you want to achieve, this may take more than one session.  Dr Chris will discuss this with you at your initial consultation and devise a programme with you.  He will also advise you on the likely cost.
No, at Sparx it's a pain free procedure because we use a dental block so our patients don't feel a thing.
This varies according to a variety of factors. On average most people need top ups every 4 to 6 months, but Dr Chris will advise you further on this at your initial consultation.
When applied properly by a fully qualified doctor, lip fillers should not feel any different from natural lips.
Immediately after the procedure, your lips will be slightly swollen but this should settle down within 24 hours and you will be able to see the final result.
