Will Energy Drinks Interfere with My Laser or IPL Treatment?
Laser technology is becoming safer than ever and at Sparx Beauty Salon in Winchester our trained beauty therapists provide effective treatments to suit all your beauty needs.
Recently, there have been concerns raised in the news that the consumption of energy drinks can interfere with the effectiveness of your IPL or laser treatments. The issue reported is that the high levels of caffeine in energy drinks can constrict the superficial blood vessels under the skin, making the treatments less effectiveness.
For peace of mind, we would advise you avoid consuming energy drinks for 48 hours prior to your treatment. Please remember that the risk of any problems is very low and only if you have consumed excessive amounts of energy drinks.
We offer a range of laser and IPL treatments which include non-surgical facelift, hair removal, cellulite reduction, and laser treatments for skin conditions. For appointment bookings or for further enquiries please give us a call on 01962 878 979.
What is a Laser Treatment/ IPL Treatment?
IPL treatments work by emitting multiple wavelengths into the skin whilst laser treatments work by emitting light that is tuned to specific wavelengths. The key difference between the two treatments is that IPL uses a broad spectrum of high-intensity light, which is emitted at multiple wavelengths, whereas laser emits a single wavelength of light that’s optimised for maximum absorption.
Both treatments play an important role in the treatment of unwanted hair, skin pigmentation, broken blood vessels, leg veins and tattoos. The skin can also be revitalised with lasers by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, minimising surgical and acne scars, and reducing the appearance of stretch marks.
